From thermodynamics and circuits to fields, light and matter, every session follows the VCAA Physics Study Design and your school's SAC calendar — with the same specialist tutor each week, in a group of no more than five.

The Physics difference
Physics rewards clear modelling. We teach it.
VCE Physics isn't about memorising formulas — it's about choosing the right model, applying it cleanly and explaining what the answer means. VCAA questions test that chain of reasoning, from a free-body diagram to a justified conclusion. Our sessions train it explicitly, so students stop losing marks on set-up and communication and start converting understanding into full-credit responses.

Every unit, mapped to the Study Design.
Support across the whole VCAA Physics sequence — from thermodynamics and circuits in Unit 1 to light, matter and the practical investigation in Unit 4.
Unit 1
Thermodynamics and electric circuits
Thermal energy, heat transfer, thermal equilibrium and specific and latent heat
Electric circuits — current, potential difference, resistance and power
Series, parallel and combined circuits, with household electricity and safety
Building quantitative problem-solving habits from the very first unit
Unit 2
Motion and applied physics
Kinematics — describing motion with graphs, equations and vectors
Newton's laws, forces, energy and momentum in real contexts
An applied area of study selected by the school from VCAA options
Investigation skills that feed directly into senior practical work
Unit 3
Fields, motion and electricity
Gravitational, electric and magnetic fields — and how they act without contact
Satellite and projectile motion modelled with fields and energy
The motor effect, DC motors and electromagnetic induction
Generators, transformers and how electrical energy is generated and transmitted
Unit 4
Light and matter
The wave model of light — interference, diffraction, polarisation and refraction
The photon model — the photoelectric effect, atomic emission and absorption spectra
Matter waves, de Broglie's relationship and the limits of classical models
Einstein's special relativity and the student-designed practical investigation
How it is assessed
SACs, an investigation and one exam.
01
School-assessed coursework (SACs)
Units 3 and 4 assess application tasks, data analysis, summaries and reports through school-based SACs. We build a week-by-week plan around your school's SAC calendar so every task is rehearsed before it counts.
02
Practical investigation
Unit 4 includes a student-designed practical investigation, reported as a structured scientific poster. Sessions coach question design, method, uncertainty handling and the writing conventions that separate top-band reports from the rest.
03
Modelling and problem-solving fluency
Physics marks come from setting up models correctly — choosing the right principle, drawing the diagram, substituting accurately and interpreting the result. We drill that routine as a repeatable process, not a list of formulas to memorise.
04
End-of-year examination
The external assessment covers Units 3 and 4 in one exam with multiple-choice and extended-response sections. Preparation moves from content mastery to timed working, use of the formula sheet and data booklet, and examiner-standard feedback on past VCAA questions.
The PRISM pathway
From diagnostic to exam room.
01
VCAA dot-point diagnostic
A free 60-minute diagnostic maps your child's conceptual understanding, maths and problem-solving against the Physics Study Design and identifies exactly where marks are being lost.
02
SAC-synced learning plan
A written plan sequences each area of study ahead of the school's assessment calendar, so every session prepares your child for the SAC, investigation or topic being assessed next.
03
Live specialist tutoring
Interactive online sessions in small matched groups — derivations worked live, problems unpacked step by step and reasoning articulated aloud, with recordings students can revisit before SACs and exams.
04
SAC and exam simulation
Timed practice in exam conditions with examiner-standard feedback, past VCAA question deconstruction and drilled problem-set-up routines turn strong understanding into reliable marks.
Not sure where the Physics gaps are?
Begin with a free 60-minute diagnostic session and written report. We assess conceptual understanding, maths fluency and problem-solving against the VCAA Physics Study Design and explain where focused support can have the greatest impact.
